While I don't think I'm familiar with this Mangaka's work, I really like the first chapter for what its worth in setting the atmosphere of the story.

The only thing I would fault it on, is the paneling of the images. I found it more difficult to read than the average manga. It might be a stylized thing I'm not used to yet, but I had to double-back between panels multiple times to make sure I was reading things in the right order.
