To those complaining that Cross is too forgiving... yeah. This just isn't your series. If you want MC's that'll show no remorse, mercy or ethics you'll just have to settle for... what do you call chinese Manhua/Novel? What was it Wuxia or something?:thonk: You'll get your fill of MC's of burying entire families and their pets there for the smallest of slights.:shamihuh:
It's always the same shit with you people, it's always one extreme or the other. Whenever people complain about the main character having an overly kind and forgiving attitude, y'all always immediately jump up and suggest the most over the top, extreme examples for alternatives.
Can your brain just not comprehend the entire spectrum of archetypes that exists between a dimwitted "kind" guy and a murderous wuxia young master?
Here, let me help you out since you seem to struggle with basic concepts. Just because we don't want the mc to so readily forgive, defend and show kindness to someone who literally tried to murder him and his loved ones for petty pride, doesn't mean we want him to go and start murdering people all over the place for funsies. Maybe we just want bad people that do bad things to actually suffer the just ramifications for doing said bad things.
Hope that helps.

He not only pissed himself, but lost most of his hair in the process. Now that's some weapons-grade intimidation right there.

I think it's because logically, in fiction at least, it's one of the more common outcomes.

I don't think a nuanced outcome will ever come out of this series simply because of its genre as an isekai-lite and a shounen. If it helps to turn your brain off for this one, think of it like Dragon Ball or something. Even Piccolo was bad in the beginning, wasn't he?

Blue blood saw god in Cross, and immediately decided to join the shota church that worships him.

I could complain about Cross forgiving Gimlet but it was expected(love how they focused on just the assassination and not the fact Gimlet literally told Cross he'd become some perverted Nobleman's sex slave if he lost). The more frustrating thing is Cross fundamentally not understanding just WHAT it meant going forward when he actually WON the duel. There was no way a High Noble publicly stating the loser would join the winner's faction would be able to be swept under the rug or just be a token acceptance, it'd have been devasting to the Waldrea family and their image amongst the rest of the nobility. Arguably getting crushed by the three strongest S-Ranks would be better for their image because they survived, lmao. Plus the Waldrea family being in the faction protects Cross and the Orphans with the shield of the family name, without having to expose who his masters are which would have caused a much, much greater uproar once revealed(with people thinking why did they choose Cross over literally everyone else when they have refused disciples in the past) which would lead to people trying all sorts of tricks and schemes to remove Cross so they can presumably become their disciple instead.

Epic moment ruined by MC. I mean, I knew it would happen, but it sucks anyway.

The classic bad cop, bad cop, bad cop, good cop routine. Never fails to crack a stubborn adversary.

Is this manga becoming like Hitman Reborn where the cowardly MC recruits upper subordinates? Looks like he's already got his right-hand guy.

This story is probably going to continue using the bad guy becomes friends trope, as it happened twice already. But I find it hard to believe that a guy who hated commoners for all of his life and tortured his own cousin for harming the extended family’s reputation would genuinely swear loyalty to MC after feeling so happy from being forgiven.

I'd sooner believe that he thought it would improve his chance of avoiding further punishment if he pretended to be loyal for the time being, and he still hates MC. Or that he thought this would be helpful to himself and his reputation in the long term to be linked to the apprentice of a S rank party, after his current reputation had already dropped to rock bottom.

Oh well. I'm expecting the author to give this guy a backstory to justify his behavior, like Giselle had.
