I mean, we reading on a pirate manga website might have contributed to the hiatus.
I'm far from knowledgeable about these sorts of things, but I don't think anyone outside of Japan had any influence on the success of a Japanese novel or manga that haven't even officially been translated yet (as far as I know.)

darn, I guess the author died then. RIP author.
thanks for saying that as it led me to check the chapter again to figure out wth you referred to (took some time, but eventually I even read the credits page at the end~), but man was I confused for a while with everyone acting as if it had ended when nothing had indicated it :p

This series is so joever despite it being a relatively interesting plot gimmick
Though MC isn't really speedrunning she's more going about her pace

Thank you for the scanlation. It makes sense this wouldn't have taken off, honestly the plot is... really really stupid. The livestream chat adds nothing to the story, the speedrun angle makes the world shes in feel cheap, and her actions are that of an idiot. Additionally, there's nothing good in the story to latch onto to keep interest. I feel bad for the author but I don't think writing is their strong suit.

There is one manhwa in which the livestream chat actually adds quite a lot to the story and humor, and far more interesting than this one.

So I am not surprised that this manga is axed. The story is just all over the place.

Was it good? Nah. But still, a shame when they can't even rush an ending or at least finish the cliffhangers lol

Webnovel version was updated as recently as July 2024. Dunno if the author is done with the series, has writer's block, or has just put it on hiatus for some other reason.

webnovel is basically the prose version of deviantart for japan. So, it's possible their life moved on and they couldn't get back into it. I knew some american webcomic authors that quit in the same way because they started before college and then after they plunged into the workforce, they couldn't get back into the story to write again.

I seriously doubt 50 lost sales* from the people who read it here will make a difference in whether a series lives or dies. As with all manga/LN, it is all about Japan sales, whatever mix of markers they use to gauge success, whether it is sales of manga, merch, light novels, and more.

*and let's be honest, that is very generous because most people on pirate sites wont buy the physical or digital manga regardless of whether they have access to buy it in English or not
But there are 9,254 bookmark counts on mangadex alone for this series, not sure about the lost sales being only 50. There could be many many reasons for the hiatus, I'm just throwing out possibilities that piracy might have contributed. Might not tho who knows.

Yeah, that make sense... Unless some people like the series so much they decided to buy the Japanese version.
