Surprised most people are forgetting that this character is the SAINT, one of the most required members of a hero party to kill a demon king who’s main weakness would be holy damage, keeps the main hero brave from going insane, and is technically the only healer.

In a world where demons, injuries, mistakes, and many other things lead to instant party wipes. Yes as much as she is a liability she is necessary. They lose her and it’s basically game over specially for the non undead badger friend

Big guy's right on all accounts. She's a liability and they really don't need her. To be fair though, she WAS forced into the role against her will just like Ougi, so she's a damsel in distress in several ways. It'd be suicide to go save her, but it'd be cruel to leave her as well. There's just no winning in this scenario. Whole world should just burn though; the amount we would lose is INFINITELY outweighed by the trash and filth. There's only been like one or two side characters who deserved to live, yet died violent and unacceptable deaths anyway.

Why? Why bother? What's the point? Defeating the Demon King isn't doing to change anything; the Church will step in to fill the void, and the world will be subjugated by them instead. If they're defeated, someone else will else to fill that void, and everything will stay exactly the same; defeating the Demon King doesn't matter.

Nothing matters.

Ougi should give up and consign himself to oblivion. It's the only real choice that he can make.

To tack onto to other people's point: the Warrior is someone who died and willingly came back. He has given up his own body for this crusade. If he had moral compunctions before, he likely has lost them all now. For everyone else, this is round 1, for him this is round 2, and there is little to no room allowed for error. What does he have to live for after killing the Demon King anyway? The Hero's mistake here was trying to appeal to him emotionally. Likely if he made an argument, 'even if she was mentally weak, her utility eclipses that', that'd probably have breached the Warrior's cynicism, but at best it'd just make him consider it. Without a realistic or viable plan to get her back either, which the Warrior has little motivation to think up himself, again, he wouldn't consider helping her. Further, from his perspective, his two greatest assets to kill the Demon King are possessed by people who themselves are liabilities, so he has less inclination to listen to them in the first place.

The Warrior is a man on a mission, and he only puts up with the Hero right now because he has a very useful Body. It is the mistake of his party, and frankly a sign of immaturity on their part, to not recognize how far gone the man is, but to be fair to them, they are literally 16, when I was 16 I wouldn't know how to convince a deeply traumatized 30 something to help me either. Especially in a world that so actively punishes empathy.

This isn't to say saving the Cleric on an emotional basis is a poor argument, but it just wouldn't work with the Warrior as he has so far been written. This is such a marvelously well written inter-party conflict.

honestly, as blunt and cold as he put it, hes absolutely right. Hes been through this before, he knows that party members will come and go as they please on an impossible journey. Losing pieces of his soul have led him to see things with more logistics than emotion, but in a sense it makes him all the better of a warrior.

I mean, if that church is right,then this world is indeed hell on earth for the sinners of the multiverse
Killing the demon lord might alleviate the pain the souls that are sent here to suffer but thinking about it, if that world cannot sustain life, they will reincarnate somewhere else

A priest is vital to any team, especially with the presence of demons, but.. he's otherwise not wrong.
If the disposal of rubbish is all it takes to make her give in, she'd very quickly become dead weight when most important; hoping this arc builds  her up a bit more, though, in preparation for the hell that's ahead!

Fuck Ophelia ngl, also he says she was taken, but no, she went with them on her own, you could almost say she took the "easy way" out of the team, just shows she really didnt care all that much for them to let herself rather be guiltripped by some psychos, rather than believe in the two who suffered x times more than she did and did their best to help her despite being also thrown into a fucked up situation..

I mean compared to mc all she did was walk 😶

Honestly, whatever comes her way inside there is by her own doing, kinda hope they really stick to it and leave her behind, could actually see that happening, but story so far was pretty unpredictable in some sense so dunno

The og hero being such a chaotic neutral mystery makes me wanna learn moar about him and what truly is his deal to begin with. And og hero talking about his body being a machine and core, does he mean that if Ougi Arikawa truly does take over og hero, and clearly not just share the same body, the hero can actually rest in peace and leave that godforsaken world? Which honestly is pretty reasonable
