It's probably too late to correct this, but the ice cream guy is probably referencing Tom Selleck, from his time on Magnum PI. He usually wore a Hawaiian print shirt with the top buttons unbuttoned, and had a hairy chest that Gesundheit felt compelled to draw in. The hair and mustache also match.
