it's probably one of those stories where the original party was all secretly good people with bad backgrounds that only gets revealed when the villian party leader sells them to slavers or leaves them to die to a super OP monster.

I bet the author is just going to keep on subverting the tropes. The support hero is probably going to end up turning the group into a heroic one while running a parallel story to this. That way the author can keep screwing with the expectations of the reader.

it wasn't out of nowhere. he was thinking about a cheaper inn, which reminded him of the beginning of the anime he got isekaid into, which made him remember the first meeting with the heroine.
