"It's an isekai anime famous for its massively overused trope"

Judging from the color pages MC has a lot more to atone for, and the casual revelation that he can steal skills is a big bomb that needs urgent explanation.

well it's about time one of the overused trope had some twist but it's like the author is combining 2 overused trope genres (exiled hero + reincarnated as the scumbag that dies" to make something that would've been mid slop into slightly more decent looking slop lmao

i still read to the end but i'm still skeptical if it's actually good or not, i'm going to read till like around 6 more chs but (imo) idk if this manga will be any better

Why not just steal the MC's support skill if you have the ability to steal skills?
Honestly missed that ex-villian, new MC, had the ability to steal skills; I just skimmed over those start pages assuming he was extorting equipment. He directly said ogMC's skill was unique, so he probably can't steal it anyways; we'll probably get a ton of conditions next time he fights another human, that will likely make it useless outside of bullying the unleveled.

A pretty novel twist on a pretty overused trope so I'll give the mangaka credit for that.

That being said story still seems like it'll be the same quality as all the usual slop ones with the same premise but I'll keep an eye on it
it's a bit too soon to tell from a single chapter, but for sure the execution so far seems sloppy.

Something that annoys me in stories such as this is when the MC clearly has a defined personality BEFORE suddenly remembering they were reincarnated, and then suddenly completely changing said personality right after remembering.
If he was a selfish A-hole before remembering, he'd still be a selfish A-hole, but likely with a bit more self-awareness.
There's no way the prideful guy of before would have bowed his head, even if he did give the party to the hero of the story.

If I was the writer, I would have had the MC give the hero the party temporarily, so that the hero can 'screw up', to truly show how 'worthless' the hero is. This would save the MC's pride, and still kept his scummy attitude, even if he wasn't trying to do the right thing.
Because what's the point of having people reincarnate as a villain, if they're not villainous in the slightest degree?

Anyway, I'll still read this isekai slop, because Mr.Tastelss consumer (me) is hungry and needs to consoooom, yum yum! :dogkek:

I think anyone with half a brain would choose self-preservation over pride when faced with a potential demise.

What the hell is with the skill stealing like it's nothing ?

We are reaching a new level of meta with this one, and yet the premises are sloppily applied. If he were actually intelligent, he wouldn't drop the support mage head of the team out of nowhere, but would think about why they become unmatched in the anime.

I'm calling it, the next trope will be that the support mage gets arrogant, deviates from the plot line, and the MC steals back his place as the main guy, with little to no moral development.

The original version of himself from the anime died because of his pride.
My entire point is that he IS that guy, he is that prideful, and he apparently does have less than half a brain.
Simply remembering some things shouldn't suddenly change your entire personality in a single beat.

Oh? Now that is a new twist, isekai right on the exile moment as the 1 exiling.
Soon there might be isekai as prince idiot on the moment of breaking his engagement. :wooow:

My guess is that since the original anime was titled "etc etc slow life", he's going to use that newly stolen skill to have a slow life as a blacksmith.

And the stealing thing will never come up again.

Probably but you would think the reason why he doesn't steal the skill would be stated before reincarnated guy apologized.

LMAO
Okay, that was a cheap beginning, but it's definitely new to have the villain transmigration plot be based on one of these annoying not-isekai premises. It even has the usual isekai title.

It's still kinda stupid he chose to leave instead of just taking it back and not being evil, but I guess this is one way to fast-track the plot for the protagonist's recognition.

Is his skill...the power to steal skills though? That's definitely absurdly powerful. You should go return that blacksmithing skill, bro.
