This is the 4th time I've reread this series and I still tear up every time at this chapter.

Holy shitballs this manga is popular as fuck.

Honestly, I feel like this manga has been ruined by the monthly serialization. There are some manga that absolutely don't work in a monthly schedule. This one just tops the list for that.

Imagine the kino we would've had if this was a weekly manga instead. We could've had 30-40 chapters of world 1, we could have better engaged with the characters of world one, with Alexis, with Gonzo. So when the time finally came to say goodbye to world 1, we would've cared much more.

This feels way too fast for me to actually care about Alexis and Gonzo, or anything from world 1 with the exception of Tia. Tia tagging along was definitely the popular choice but I feel like it takes away from the sadness of saying goodbye to world 1. Maybe if she joined some arcs later then the effect would be more pronounced.

Writing is still great, but it's not peak. Earlier chapters were TRUE peak.

The problem is that most manga don't actually last very long. Spending 40 chapters on just the first world? What if it gets cancelled just 2 or 3 worlds in?

Okay, I appreciate the execution here. That could have easily felt cheap ("of course your waifu is following you! Yay, no conflict!"). Maybe it really should have. Instead it did it perfectly—convinced me we really were going to move on, that his loniliness was going to be an ongoing theme of the story, and then landed the happy gut-punch.
