Isn't it kinda clear that his old party got cooked by something strong.
So I hope he is not OP, just maybe way higher than silver rank.
Not defending the author, but we don't really know anything about Daru or power levels in this manga.

So next we'll get their first encounter from his perspective and we'll probably get the cliche side by side of Athena and his childhood friend/original love interest. This will also serve as his tragic backstory and justification as to why he held all of them back intentionally knowing his strength because he probably pushed them too far which is why they died.
Honestly, this might have been a decent story if it actually showcased it like the description initially felt with the banishing party imploding enough to send them all their separate ways and Athena eventually finding her way into a proper hero party instead of Daru's harem.

He already noted this is a weak demon. He must have, thus, faced stronger ones in the past, with his former party. This weak demon also did take a beating from the three women, so while it could regenerate itself every time, perhaps it's still lost mana/stamina, making things easier for Daru. Above all, though, Daru probably knows how to fight and beat the thing, which is something Athena and Frey seemed to have no idea of. There's probably a trick to it, even if a simple one, considering the demon is a super regenerator.
Daru was a drunkard before Athena recruited him. He needed no party for drinking, that's true. He seems to need one for adventuring because he's already back in good shape after joining Athena's party.

Pretty much. Wild to me that this manga is so close to gal cleaning in rating (3.8 to gal's 3.5) when its not really anywhere near that bad comparatively. Solid 6 or so.
Sounds about normal for isekai/fantasy'ish manga tbh.

Ah of course. Not only is Daru able to turn the tides of battle, he is able to do it solo, which even further invalidates the drama about protecting Est. If Daru can solo demons then there is no reason he couldn't protect a 'useless' support member or two in a functional party.

Delete Est from the story and the rest would be quite serviceable and by the books self inserting power fantasy. Est was the thing to separate this story from the norm... but the author couldn´t handle it and it seems it did not have anyone who could tell him
Though this was a LN or a WN... so it does have a market, people that wanted this broken thing to become a manga

Nah this story just started out super bad and stayed such consistently.
Right now there isn't really a single likeable quality about the main cast and everything they do feels hypocritical, especially Athena and Daru considering how they went about the business with Est, who is the only somewhat understandable character in the story.
So really no matter what they do there isnt really a way to redeem them.
Honestly the Rating will tank further down, since the story is just that abysmal really, it's like the usual isekai where you have one somewhat likeable character (mc) and the super over the top villain, who's unreasonably dickheaded, but in this story there is literally only the villain arch-type in every character.
