Props to everyone at Haikai scans for enduring the mental torture to the end.
This story was one of the biggest train wrecks ever known to man, so now everyone pop a bottle of champagne, enjoy the fireworks and celebrate it being over!

the core concept this series tried to run with, was interesting. A lot of the banishment-type stories, does more or less show the banisher's side as well, though it is often the trope of a downward spiral into complete ruin.

THIS, however, feels like it tries to take itself far more seriously than it was meant to. While I appreciate the characters involved seeming like they have more than half a brain cell to spark a rational thought, the overall execution felt rushed and flat.

A hearty and solid thank you to the translators for your work. Hopefully whatever is next for you is at least more enjoyable than this was.

It's really some sort of badness paradox, where in order to get something to be widely disliked it both needs to be competent enough to draw people in on a large scale and frustrating enough that everyone ends up feeling like they got baited hard.

Kind of like how overwatch 2 became the lowest ranked game on steam exactly because it was still good (and high profile) enough for massess of people to be angry with it. All the while the true worst game on steam is probably something zero people have ever bought and doesn't even launch once installed.

I don't think it deserved this low of a rating. It isn't the best but certainly there are dozens worse mangas out there that I hate with my whole being.
Thanks to the team for everything though! Good luck in the future!

Like others have said, concept was interesting, execution was terrible, and it just didn't turn out that well, just made most of the characters more stupid than they needed to be. Not even the reconciliation was all that good, either. Even still, I've read and dropped worse, and to me, not getting a score is even worse than getting the lowest rating of all.

Which is why I'll be slightly generous in giving this a 2/10, which is really rounding up from 1.5/10. Thanks to the translators for sticking through this to the end.

Thanks for the translation until the last chapter. I may look like a masochist guy, but I kinda wanna know how the LN continued after that, so if someone, truly one of a kind masochist, who read it could spoil me I would be thankful

Thanks for the translator for going through to the end!

In the end, the only decent character out of that party was the newly recruited Lizard girl(Frey?). The elf was annoying at first, though she had some growth she also ended fell into Daru's harem, even if she kicked Est so she can have yuri time with Athena. Athena was kinda dumb, but ironically she could have proper growth and better reconciliation if not for Daru, and I don't even need to mention how bad of a character Daru was.

This had interesting premises of "banishing side", but failed poorly on execution. The author doesn't understand why "banished" trope was popular, we wanted to see a REAL consequences but all we got was just a minor setback. Moreover, the "banishing side" was potrayed as the good guys while making the banished the "bad guy". The author probably didn't even realize how terrible of a character Daru was.

Overall I like the story but no way in hell I'm gonna go out of my way to defend this manga from its peculiarities

Especially Daru (which I'm assuming is the actual MC, because I read it assuming Daru, Est, and Athena are all main characters in this story with how their characters develop)'s way of thinking, it feels too random and or inconsistent throughout the story

Thank you for seeing this travesty to completion. I've read so many manga with better stories be dropped by the TL over some stupid overused trope like the ancient dragon being a loli baba or the newly introduced tsundere being violent that this effort to finish something that would be legitimate to drop really shows your commitment to the community. 10/10 to the team.

As for the manga itself; what can I say which hasn't already been said? Interesting premise that was pretty much abandoned for a story that, even being generous, was 4/10 at best.

Thanks TL for seeing this thru despite the fact. I really am amazed how the author sabotaged himself by putting that romance in at the beginning that did not address throughout the whole damn manga. Can a brave soul who dared to read the source spoiler the whole thing for me?

Why is Est thanking them for his growth? I can't fully see how they contribute to it.
I think they were going for a “I was able to see where i was failing because I didn’t have you all to rely on” sort of thing…when it shoulda been “thanks for not holding me back!”

But in reality you should not think about it too much.

Thank you for the effort despite the negative feedback, it was a good read imo, there are worse things out there.
