Root resurrected her physically, but mentally she's a functionally different person. Makoto freaks out because he has dumb hangups. Then nothing else really happens with her.

He was caught off guard, referring back to the romance of the 3 kingdoms of chinese history, lu bu on the battlefield was pretty much unstoppable, but even he could be defeated if you caught him off guard, as his eventual end came from such a situation.
The mc is strong, but he's not a god (at least not as far as i know), as such a surprise attack can injure him.
He was caught off guard, referring back to the romance of the 3 kingdoms of chinese history, lu bu on the battlefield was pretty much unstoppable, but even he could be defeated if you caught him off guard, as his eventual end came from such a situation.

I think the 'dreams' were more like different time loop that come after each other, and who/whatever can see these loops made small adjustments after each end of the world to try and fix it.
In the first, most raw timeline, Makoto basically was alone, went insane and all "Hey you know microwave? You know what happen if you put egg inside it?"
That established that he can't be left alone so...
In the 2nd time line, Tomoki, Mr. Shut-in, 'somehow' find and rescue Makoto at the border. He became 'guided' by Lily's wish for ruin on the world that took her mother away, and follow it even after her death (which honestly put me in the mood to read some 'insane villainess and her loyal servant who follows her against the world' sort of story for a while )
Aka the one that turn a country to dust.
So now they know how he kinda imprint the first wish of hte person he trust and then follow that to terrifying degree so....
3rd time line, Tomoe and Mio were there (and have romantic relation with him), and Makoto decided to join the demons to fight Bug, but that result in the death of those two.
In this one, we get Tomoe herself telling Makoto that maybe he needs a 3rd attendant to balance out the two reckless hotheads Tomoe and Mio, and probably a guy since that way they'll be more accepting of the new kid instead of seeing them as a rival.
And now we have Shiki.

I know that when dragons revive they're a bit of a different person (I think Tomoe mention this earlier) but still feel a bit let down that there was no further development on Sophia

@HDM1 demons are also pretty, so they were probably also created by the goddess, she just favors the much more obedient hyumans, since they fit her ideals more.
This war was a long time coming, the demons were second or third class citizens, who were then banished to the furthest reaches, when they talked back.

thats sonia the previous strongest adventure before Tomoe and mío came on to the scene, who is searching for the heroes to fight kill and take their experience for herself to continue her challenge of the supreme dragons that earned her the title dragon slayer. And he is freakishly strong just that he was caught off guard not being able to communicate with his followers after being kidnapped by the roach so he didn’t have any magic strengthening which is where most of his defense and offense comes from

As for the Manga plot speed, yeah its slow considering that they are now currently at LN v04 plot which was released back in 2014. And the latest LN volume is v14 which was released back in 2018 (the LN series had been on Hiatus since 2018, but it seems that the Author had said that she plans to release a big LN volume soon).

Looked it up. He appears on the battlefield in chapter 74 of the novel. So this chapter is mid-way through 74.

she's Root's daughter, as well. Which is why she hunts dragons. She gained the ability to absorb and keep the power of any dragon she kills due to Root. Can't remember if Root was her mother or father, though. Gender-fluid is the best way to describe him, lol. I use male pronouns because I only remember him becoming a female for a few minutes to creep out Makoto while telling him that 'she' was a previous summon's wife.
Makoto hasn't actually developed his 'fighting style' yet. Where he creates physical constructs from pure mana. Root said that he can make a physical object the size of a grain of sand for a minute or two with his entire mana pool. So the mc creating an entire set of armor and weapons for hours on end is outright terrifying.
