Whats up with this series never having the MC mature? I know the monster girls are keeping him "innocent" but really at this point it's become a plot crutch and he should be no longer this naive to how this world is. Especially after multiple things that have directly happened to him. Also we are still just skipping by that whole teleport situation like as if it never happened? If I was the MC I'd have alot of questions about it since it essentially set him up to be assassinated.

Why would he mature? Because a bunch of women proposed to him for financial gain? Hes still just a kid
Also who would he question about the teleport? It was clearly the goddess

I kinda like this arc. We even get a mention about his parents, the one quest that actually matters to him.

Eh I don't remember Makoto being particularly intelligent in the WN, though I guess he has some innate intellect in handling his power. He has good people around him doing the thinking, ie Tomoe, Shiki, Rembrandt.

No, I don't consider him particularly intelligent either, but he's above being used as a witless tool. In this chapter we saw someone popping unknown pills from an unknown source like candies, simply because he was promised they will make him stronger. That's the bottom I'm comparing Makoto to. Makoto isn't getting pushed around by anyone, and is pretty much doing what he, personally, wants to be doing. Although he was planning to become a student, not a teacher, but aside from minor details like that.

if i remember right the first set of drugs he takes also causes his temperament to change so he's more prone to anger and frustration. it has to do with the experiment the lady is running at the city.

the waitress or her sister tries to get a job at his place but Makoto ends up throwing up at the very idea of hiring her. Even he didnt realize just how much he hates the hyumans and it's a hate thats on a subconscious level for him

That's what I meant by "Keeping him innocent" but the author is choosing to go that route not that the situation changes and status quo is upended. Like it's near impossible for the MC to go through all this and still be this naive considering just some of the events he's been subjected to.

Without getting into spoilers, that’s… basically why this storyline arc is happening. There’s a LOT of growth coming to the MC, and not in a way he’s going to like. And it turns him into a very… non-average MC that’s pretty interesting IMO. Sort of falls into an anti-hero eventually.
