they work on too many series and release at slower pace. It seems some series take priorities and others like this one are barely crossed their mind. With this many fans, I had hoped that other group would take over

I'm currently rereading this from the beginning. It was established early on that the MC is extremely and exceedingly particular about any romantic partner he might eventually want. From the very beginning, he excluded Mio and Tomoe. It was stated clearly enough. They did nothing for him attraction wise. So, that ship sank as quickly as the new North Korean destroyer that went straight to the sea bottom during its grand launch event. Even the school beauties he got along fabulously back in Japan were of no interest to him. His standards are astronomically high. Nobody knows what kind of a woman would be suitable for him. Maybe he doesn't know it himself, but he's not willing to compromise one micrometre. Encountering such a person is probably as likely as winning 100M euros from a lottery jackpot.

I thought part of his reluctance was he still had a desire to go home, so he was avoiding any romantic entanglements for the time being. After all, I read on TV tropes he eventually sleeps with Tomor and Mio.
