@DaoLaw I'm not looking for shock value when I crave a Villain, I'm looking for cold indifference and Machiavellian schemes, like Lex Luthor.
I've tried reading a lot of CNs that might be similar, some examples being Reverend Insanity, Grasping Evil, and HeavenlyJewel Change, but I just can't get into any of them, I think the reason I'm able to Love WMW so much is the western naming and Leylin.
I wanted a book with an MC that valued himself and his goal above everyone and everything, so many books start off with an Evil MC, but they always end up valuing their clan or something else in the end, Leylin's quest for knowledge and power is neverending, if sacrificing his entire clan children and wives would guarantee him the true eternity he craves, it would be done in a heartbeat, such consistency of character is mind-bogglingly hard to find.
Some annoying tropes were broken in it as well, like that time his avatar slept with those two pleasure devils, no obsession with purity or virgins.
Then there's the magic, I always play some kind of mage in RPGs, and I love the darker aspects of it, like blood magic and necromancy, all the different rituals Leylin performed were drool-worthy to me.
In conclusion: Reverend Insanity may have the better story, but Leylin was the perfect MC for me.
