Did this story ever get good again? It was so frustrating to read, so I gave up after a while. The MC has potential, but he's shackled by his Japanese-MC-ness, for lack of a better term.

The last noteworthy thing I remember was him getting some kind of shrine maiden character. It was already past the point where he met gods from his world, I don't remember two of the three, but the one I do remember was Athena. He ends up sparring with her, and loses. But its later revealed that Athena was genuinely taking damage from him, kinda implying that this guy was nearing god-hood in a way, lol. I was hyped up by that! But I still couldn't ring myself to continue reading. His indecisive-ness and the garbage side characters made me quit.

@Jeikob no, I read the webnovel to the most updated chapter a few months ago and it doesn't get any better. He's a beta MC that goes "uwaaa uwaaa!" every time a girl flirts with him and stays that way. No matter how much power he gets, he always stays as a beta MC that will only do something cool every 100 chapters or so. It's the kind of novel that teaches me never to read JP novels again.

If i remember correctly they manage to cause a massive explosion by stealing Makoto's overloaded and discarded Draupnir rings, killing Komoe (Tomoe's offshoot) and a random unnamed (?) orc. This causes him to fly into a rage and adopt a generally more... "racist" attitude towards humans of that world in general

He does not come to that conclusion, but I do think he ended up using some of them as basically depleted uranium warheads by making them explode or as the "core" or physical foci of spells. I've not read the WN in years

They're TOO powerful, and even more so as his magic kept growing stronger and the newer rings have to hold even more magic.

The one time the ring was used for something productive was to throw one into a frozen lake to basically melt the ice.

Although that resulted in a giant steam explosion that blew away most of the water nearby, leaving a boiling magma pool where the ring land.
