I commentee here 3,5 y ago, and i still think the same.
Mother who want to control everything about their child are horrible.

And most of time, like here, it's not just to ""protect them"", it's more about the parents protecting their image.

Well, it could still be a debate if it was a normal family...but with the house looking like that, we should not even talking about this.

If she really is just a child, then sure, tough situation. But she's a highly functioning adult. This situation is nothing. If I were in her shoes, I'd be able to resolve it in a heartbeat.

She can report abuse to the authorities, or tell her relatives. She has the mind of an adult. She doesnt have to take this shit.

I never expected to feel so fricking terrible. Excuse me, I need to exhale.

"TAKAEEEEE!! MARIKAAAA!! SAVE YOURSELF! YOU DON'T DESERVE A LIFE AS SHITTY AS WHAT YOU'RE ENDURING RIGHT NOW!! NOOOOOOO!!! UUUUUUUUUU 😭"

Okay I'm calm again. Seriously, it's getting more and more possible that Mom might be confined at home. Worse, maybe some unfortunate accidents might take place again.

It's already bad enough to die from an accident. But to be brought back a second time, a decade after, in the middle of another childhood that's possibly more broken and dangerous than the one you yourself had lived?

I... just feel bad.
Dammit.

Why is she handling this like a kid? It's really hard to feel bad when you know that she's a grown-ass woman in a first world country who should know better than to take shit from someone that's the same age as her internally. It just seems like pointless, forced drama.
What can she do? Try to reason with an unreasonable mother?
