We're in the past. Sensei and Detective Okuma are still alive. In the last page, you can see her laughing which is from chapter 1 when sensei sees her kill that old man.

It is seemingly inconsistent though cause going back to chapter 1 the old guy gets pushed at night, and this is still day if just very late afternoon. I'm assuming the author just messed up that part tbh.
