This series really got worse since it stopped caring about the first couple. I really don't care about all these side characters. I think there is enough room in the first couples relationship for more focus on them

I wouldn't call it "worse", but I do get the sense that the mangaka is flailing to find a story line with enough meat on it to last for a good long series. This is perhaps the reason why the series ended after only fourteen more chapters. It has a cute ending, constrained by the reality of this being a middle-school couple, but the artist seems to have run out of plot ideas, or at least plot ideas sufficiently interesting to raise their poll numbers in those big telephone-book sized manga 'magazines' they have in Japan, and thereby keep the series alive.

@Arrebios - The cover image for volume 3 only. Volumes 1 & 2 had the main couple (Tamaki & Saya). Volume 4 has Saya-chan on the cover too, looking much more mature and with Tamaki looking like her pet.
