you mean he'll save humanity regardless? this makes zero sense. humanity got wiped, sure they killed the demon lord, but humans lost the war. they got borderline genocided and there s still lots of demons alive and other enemies like dragons. humans only killed the demon lord/commander. at best their culture is destroyed and they get turned into slaves or on the run.

the best kail did so far was to mitigate the damage to 3/4 of the species genocided in the FIRST YEAR. it s still a farcry from what he wants

there s only so much power a person can have in this setting. that s what the goddess is oferring, the buff seran mother must have. the price must be being a servant just like she is

so it s not black and white. he needs all the power he can gets to end the war in a way humanity can go on. that said if he takes this power he'll be the goddess tool and she does not give many fucks to other species so ...

and then there s the whole why/what s the plan behind the demon lord powering up the time travel stone, which is obviously his true reason for the war/genocide. why he fighted to the death when it was already charged when he could escape? is this a plot hole or for him at that point it did not matter because the objective was already done?

did he want kail to activate the stone?

it s not about power levels really, it s about agendas, which people are conspirators, which are not, who's really playing the game besides the demon lord and who kail will cull thinking he knows what s up when he really does not

did melra even intervene in the original timeline? do we have a melra cultist in the original party? does she even give enough of a fuck? can we trust her shady ass? if we at least knew what seiran's mother was doing in the OG timeline...

Melra is spouting some phenomenally evil philosophy right here, the likes of which would have made William J. Grayson and Arthur de Gobineau proud. I can only hope that the author doesn't end up giving that a pass.

Honestly, I hope Leila gets taken down at this point. Even at her most benevolent, Melra is still vile as can be. Her comment that the other Gods are just like her suggests that maybe the Gods in general are part of the problem.

Basically she only gives her blessings to human but she doesnt "care" about other races. She is not racist, she plays favorite. She doesnt hate other races she just dont care. I think you guys are misunderstanding the goddess. She only gave that "Loving your own children more than other people's" analogy for Kail's sake. Gods' feelings for mortals are similar to our feelings for pets like fish. You may like guppies the best and it's a shame when they cannibalize each other but in the end, they're just fish. Micromanaging them would be a pain so it's more likely that you'd prefer to just watch from afar and let them do there own thing. Honestly, gods who interact with humans at all must be kinda bored.

@ZeroWWE you know the planet is like a table for them and each god has favorite species. They can kill each other it's like a game for them. They go from Sims to warhammer. It's fun for them. They have only stringent rules to not cheat/interact with history.
