Ok on a reread, Diode says she flew under her mom (a captain) on a Typhoon Search weather ship. I'm going to stretch real far and say she let that catch from the first chapter go because her family's part of a conservationist group or something that sees the decline of gloomfish, and those type of fish were endangered or weren't "in season". I don't know why she would run away though

The inspector seems way more bothered of Diode not wanting to give her legal name then of her being a female twister.
I would have expected a stronger reactions from him, consider the in universe traditions.

In chapter 3 I was under impression that Die Overdose was her name + family name (contracted to the nickname Diode ), but now her name was state differently. There was a hint to translate the name as that in the previous chapter or it was a completly different thing? The only thing is "Gendo" that translator translate as "limit".

I'm not the translator, but in chapter 3 when Diode introduces herself, the text uses "Die OD" in romaji, with "Overdose" given in ruby. As she tells the inspector, Diode is just the handle she uses. She hasn't used the name Kanna Isidoro Gendo at any point prior to this chapter.
