Where would one look if they were interested in reading the translated novel? That marks the end of the manga adaptation. I hope you all have enjoyed reading as much as we've enjoyed working on it these last two years. I've been really happy to see the small cult fanbase this series has found.
I think getting the axe really threw off the pacing of this story; chapters 16-18 alone cover approximately 1/6 of the novel's length. All told, I think Tanaka-sensei did a relatively decent job condensing all of that into a coherent ending, but there are still a lot of things that were bound to be lost.
I do highly recommend checking out the novels, which are getting a fan translation by our friends at FBB Translations. The first novel was recently completed, and you can get a nice little epilogue to this by reading the first chapter of the second novel. Terra and Diode's romance feels much richer, and there are a lot of really good scenes that didn't make it into the manga, like an incredibly sweet scene where Diode talks to Terra about comphet and another where we meet Diode's mom. The worldbuilding for the setting also gets a lot more attention.
For those of you who feel robbed by a lack of a kiss in this scene, here's a portion from the ending scene as it happened in the novel:
Novel two starts out by taking things much further than a kiss.
Thanks again for reading!

The art was really solid and honestly did a lot for the story. The overall aesthetic of the setting was neat and felt any level of more originally than most manga. That said at least there’s the light novel.Being able to just go read the book does take the sting out of this getting axed a bit. Still a shame though, the art in this was a lot of fun, definitely gonna miss that part of the story.
Oh my god I'm so in. Thank you so much for the work put into this series! It was a sleeper hit I wasn't expecting to love as much <3That marks the end of the manga adaptation. That and the metrics Japanese companies use for sales alongside an absurd aversion to international sales makes it so many things die off for at times no real reason. This gets even worse with anime because for reasons beyond anyone’s comprehension performance is measured in either merch sales or if it’s an adaptation manga/ln/novel sales. Because that definitely makes sense. And Japanese business practices totally aren’t ass backwards and silly.the problem with the manga industry as a whole is the fact it takes 20 chapters to get anywhere and by that point sales are in the toilet
Also to add they don’t care about international sales generally even if they’re significant. Japanese sales matter so much more companies have canceled successful things because they sold fine elsewhere just not Japan. That and the metrics Japanese companies use for sales alongside an absurd aversion to international sales makes it so many things die off for at times no real reason. Honestly, it skipped the first real arc because they clearly wanted to get at least here and didn't expect to get cancelled as fast as they did.Wait WTF!?, that was the end?!, the story had just gotten to the first real arc?!?
