it said "look forwards to the next work by..." so its probably the end of the mangaWait is this the end????? Or is it’s the end of this volume
“Die-san.”
“Yes?” Diode turned around like she had been zapped.
“Mmmm.” Terra presented her lips to the girl. “Didn't you say you were going to claim the whole reward?”
“...You!!” As Terra expected, Diode snatched her up for the first time. She embraced Terra with the ferocity of a small, fiery dragon. Terra felt the warmth of the cute lips, from which she had only heard sass, bluster, and griping, against her body for the first time. Unbelievable euphoria spread from the top of her head to the tips of her hands and feet, melting the entirety of her being.
“Haah.” Diode pulled away and looked up at her with a supernova sparkling in her eyes. “No complaining, okay? You're the one who asked for it.”
“Ye... yesh...” Terra was no longer standing when she replied. Her large frame floated in the gel like a bouquet submerged in water.
I absolutely loved this manga it really sucks it got axed. Was it just not selling amazingly well? Or was the manga adaptation more or less used for a short sales boost? I would have loved to see more. That marks the end of the manga adaptation. I hope you all have enjoyed reading as much as we've enjoyed working on it these last two years. I've been really happy to see the small cult fanbase this series has found.
I think getting the axe really threw off the pacing of this story; chapters 16-18 alone cover approximately 1/6 of the novel's length. All told, I think Tanaka-sensei did a relatively decent job condensing all of that into a coherent ending, but there are still a lot of things that were bound to be lost.
I do highly recommend checking out the novels, which are getting a fan translation by our friends at FBB Translations. The first novel was recently completed, and you can get a nice little epilogue to this by reading the first chapter of the second novel. Terra and Diode's romance feels much richer, and there are a lot of really good scenes that didn't make it into the manga, like an incredibly sweet scene where Diode talks to Terra about comphet and another where we meet Diode's mom. The worldbuilding for the setting also gets a lot more attention.
For those of you who feel robbed by a lack of a kiss in this scene, here's a portion from the ending scene as it happened in the novel:
Novel two starts out by taking things much further than a kiss.
Thanks again for reading!
I get the sense it wasn't selling amazingly well. The first volume had some bookstore-exclusive promo cards, which weren't offered for the second. Ogawa also wrapped up the novel series in January, so it sort of lost the secondary incentive for it to keep people engaged between novel releases.I absolutely loved this manga it really sucks it got axed. Thats unfortunate. Nonetheless thanks for translating! I didn’t even notice it’d been 2 entire years honestly. It was a really cool manga and a lot more distinct than the usual yuri manga. Sometimes good stuff doesn’t get the attention it needs but oh well. Everyone who’s read it still got to find something really cool out of it! I never thought a yuri manga getting axed would also motivate me more to try and learn Japanese by heh here we are. Too much good stuff to not learn the language.I get the sense it wasn't selling amazingly well. The first volume had some bookstore-exclusive promo cards, which weren't offered for the second. But yeah, I'm really sad it ends here. I really would have loved to see this setting visualized in more detail.
I'm confused. So does this manga adaption only cover volume 1 of the LN? While volume 2 of the LN goes way beyond this? For those of you who feel robbed by a lack of a kiss in this scene, here's a portion from the ending scene as it happened in the novel:
The series was 4 LNs by Ogawa, the manga covered the plot through the first one (leaving out quite a bit of the last quarter of it). The first LN is really just the set up for Terra and Diode's adventures. As noted above by MapleMakarov, there is a separate project translating the LNs.I'm confused. So does this manga adaption only cover volume 1 of the LN? While volume 2 of the LN goes way beyond this?
Regardless, thanks for your hard work!
