In the scanlation term especially with the open forum format like mangadex, this is what we call sniping the series.

I'll disregard the quality stuffs other had mentioned for now. Imagine you're working on something with passion for your clients, they know you'll deliver them let's say 2 days from now, but suddenly someone who knows from where jump in the next day delivering the same work and then your some of your clients choose to take it, some choose to wait for you.

The clients here being us readers, "you" the original worker here is the first scanlation group who take on the series, and the one who suddenly jump in is the sniping group.

Aside from quality differences, this probably won't matter much for the clients or in this case, us. We get the product they want, a series update. But as the original worker, don't you think it's going to sting? The feel like your work is being stolen. It can be demotivating, especially since a lot of them are doing it out of passion, and for some who run by donations, it can hurt financially.

Now now, I can understand some groups who suddenly appear in a series (which is sniping) probably just want to jump in the fun, and probably aren't aware of this issue. Because well . . . . you probably won't see this issue elsewhere since Mangadex is an open forum, catered and designed for scanlation teams maybe more like an online open office for us.

Anyway, to not have bad blood between scanlation team, I wish any group who'd want to join the fun communicate with the original group first. Maybe you guys can somewhat collab, maybe the you can join your fund for faster or better raws, maybe if censored is faster you can help with redrawing, those are just some example I can think in the moment.

My point is, it doesn't have to end with a bad blood, we can still be in harmony with each other.

To add to it, this guy is actually advertising for multiple sites where all the chapters are worse quality Maths, and obviously all series are sniped. This fucks people who actually are passionate about translating and normal readers, because it just wastes the time they spent, so often the MTLs won't translate more than a couple chapters, the original translators stop and go to a different series, and the series is abandoned.
