Indeed. It's like reading a romance story through the eyes of an extra, and that guy is often the third wheel. In all honesty, Vincent isn't the focus of the story and receives little special attention. He is, as you say, a talking camera narrating the romantic life of the wild never-to-be-Villainess.

Is this the same where the mc(kid) worked hard on being the villainess' personal butler and his damn good at it, ending up for the villainess being obsessed(yandere) for the mc?
so in this manga the "out of the ordinary" becomes the norm
makes me wonder what is the MC even doing, he just seem to unwillingly follow the storyline
