You know what I think? Manaka corruption arc.
Ueno and Manaka are going to the hotel despite knowing there's no known spark between them, sure, but we know what lights Ueno's fire -- bullying. And we've already established Manaka's feelings about Ueno's relationships with the other three. The outcome that makes sense to me is, Manaka could try to emulate their bullying. [counts on fingers] She wants to connect with him, she knows how they've been doing things isn't working, she knows how the others do it, she has enough reason to be annoyed to make her want to take out the frustration on him, and we know his body could react to it whether or not his mind is into it. It's a recipe, and all the ingredients are in the bowl, as I see it.

Nah fuck this bitch and fuck the author, im still mad he backtracked ueno’s character by having him be able to say no to one form of assault and not the other. He’s gonna have to earn his 7/10 rating back. For now he’s stuck with a sloppy 5/10 rating

Ueno may be putting up a firm front, but like his inner self tells him, he still desires getting a release from his bullies. He was calming himself all night after his last encounter with Chisaki. He had a wet dream after his last encounter Tsubomi. Having zero physical chemistry with Moka doesn't help either. No wonder a forceful kiss from Kanako shattered a pent-up Ueno's resistance.

I kinda like how this manga teeters on the edge of being a horny, ntr, femdom manga and humanist drama about the consequences of rape/non-consent (both from the actors and victims).

I dont think this chapter's a great example of it 100% but its just something thats been in the back of my mind for a while.

I honestly have a hard time figuring out which one of the three bullies was the most cruel.

Kanako is just straight up evil, never caring about Ueno for even a moment. Even now I don’t think she cares about what she did to him or the impact it had. She’s more worried about what she did in relation to Chisaki, why she did it, and what that says about her as a person. She seems to be pathologically incapable of empathy.

Chisaki truly revelled in her journey of sadism. She took the lead in breaking and conditioning Ueno, and she loved every second of it. As the defacto leader of the bullies, she also implemented the blackmail and intimidation tactics that kept him isolated and helpless. She also made sure the bullies became friends with Moka, another tactic isolate and blackmail Ueno.

Many have argued that Tsubomi wasn’t that bad. In terms of direct action and harm, it is a fact that she went the easiest on Ueno. On the other hand, the “practice” sessions, were really fucked up. It forced a pseudo relationship between her and Ueno that demanded secrecy, physical intimacy, and an emotional connection that was both implied and refused at the same time. It was toxic as hell. If a normal couple had those same dynamics it would be called emotional and sexual abuse, because it that’s what it was.

Layer on top that none of the bullies know even half of what the other two are doing in private with Ueno and it gets even more messy. All three think they are the only one who knows everything they’ve collectively put Ueno through and they’re all missing a lot of information.

I’d love to see a few chapters of them all sitting down and explaining everything each of them has been doing privately to Ueno. At the end you’d hope they’d all finally understand the totality of what they’ve done, because the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Most likely we're not gonna see Ueno and Moka in the hotel until Chisaki and Kanako's conversation is finished, if Kanako comes clean to Chisaki about her own activities with Ueno then that only adds to my belief that the rest of the series will be played out straight.

Yea, you do make a good point about the trio, I think Tsubomi is honestly the most genuine out of all them but I think the best thing is for the trio to move on from Ueno and frankly? maybe even each other since I have a gut feeling that when the truth comes out fully about what each girl has been doing to Ueno that could make or break their friendship, Tsubomi already felt alot of guilt for what she did to Ueno but I can't imagine how she'll react when she finds out her two friends were doing the same thing.

The Love Hotel trip is gonna be interesting, that will most likely decide the fate of Ueno and Moka's relationship, like I said before, I'm still in favour of things working out but it's gonna take alot of work from both Ueno and Moka.

To be fair, Ueno didn't really have a chance to say no, Kanako forced a kiss on him and his body just reacted, for what it's worth, I really don't see any of the bully trio making moves on Ueno anymore, only way that will happen is if Ueno's relationship with Moka implodes but if it happens like that then Ueno might just cut himself off from the trio and blame them for his current state of mind.

I don't see any of the girls doing anything now while Ueno is still with Moka, sure Kanako kissed him but that's an impulsive move, Tsubomi certainly won't do anything, so it's down to Chisaki and so far nothing makes me think Chisaki is going to try anything when she does get around to talking with Ueno.
Yeah I feel the same with your comment and the ones you replied to. Now, the story probably won't go this way because i think the angle is about forgiveness and healing and all that stuff. But personally I think Ueno should walk away from all of them including Moka. I just don't think she doing him any favors by listening to his story of being bullied with sexual abuse, and she JUST saw him getting sexually assaulted, so the first thing she wanna do is take him to a hotel and crack him?? Like damn let the guy rest first😭😭😭 And it just doesn't sit right with me that their relationship depends on whether they have sex or not. That's basically all his relationships with women have been to this point and its traumatized his body. But what I really hoped would happen was Mokas older sister would come in and kick all those girls asses for what they did to Ueno. 🤣

100% agree. Honestly I don’t know what Ueno was even thinking going to a university within 1000km of where he went to high school.

The real best girl is Moka’s sister. She’s the only female who has empathy and actually tried to help Ueno in a tangible way. OFC they’d never be romantic with Ueno but I could see them being genuine friends in time.

She probably saw Ueno as a charity case when they first met, but she never belittled him and I think she came to respect his drive to improve himself.

Moka though? Like you, I have my doubts. Not to be rude but they drew Ueno to have zero absolutely zero sex appeal or masculinity.

I think Moka picked Ueno in part because he seemed like he’d never have the opportunity to cheat, let alone the desire to cheat. Ueno was supposed to be the easy training wheels she’d use to move forward, though I’m sure she didn’t consciously know that’s what she was doing.

Moka picked a “nice” guy to build her confidence on and then upgrade to someone “better”. Instead it turns out he’s way more fucked up than she is. She seems more mad that he betrayed her expectations than anything else.

So, let’s go to the hotel, try and squeeze one more lesson out of this limp noodle of a guy before discarding him and all those fake bitches that she now thinks were laughing at her behind her back.

What a shit show.

I do agree on most of what you said but tsubomi didn't force ueno completely, yes the bulling was bad for sure, no denying that.

But saying that tsubomi completely dominated ueno is completely false, mostly because ueno pretty much knew that tsubomi was quite the weakling and even fought back in every practice. And let's not forget that the same ueno admitted to having enjoyed that relationship and not in the same way as the other two where he doesn't have a word or opinion in anything and it's just completely used.

Ueno with tsubomi quipped back and played around sometimes as well. His actions with tsubomi are not that of a victim unlike when he is with kanako or Chisaki.

And finally out of everyone tsubomi is the only one to accept her faults completely and not ask for forgiveness.

I get what you're saying but I don't think Moka should be faulted for the trip to the hotel, it's not like she dragged him there, it's just where they ended up but they both agreed to go in because they seriously want to make this relationship work.

I think your view on this situation is a bit too harsh and pessimistic, I completely agree that Moka's sister is a good role model in this series, as for the rest..

I believe your view on Moka and Ueno's relationship just isn't fair at all, if Moka wanted to pick a "nice guy" but then "upgrade" I feel she would have done that already but Moka isn't that type of person, otherwise she would have chosen her ex-boyfriend even after Ueno's efforts.

As for Ueno himself and his sex appeal? isn't that the point? he needed to be in a pitiful position so he couldn't break free of the bully trio so easily, if he was a chad jock type character or even a confident playboy like Moka's ex then this series wouldn't work.

I know you seem pretty confident that Moka and Ueno's relationship is doomed to fail and maybe it still will, but for the time being I'm going to believe it in, one might argue the relationship was doomed after Ueno lost against Moka's ex but Moka still chose Ueno, after Moka caught Ueno being kissed I expected the worse to happen there but they talked it out.

If the worse happens at this hotel trip, if Ueno and Moka's relationship really is doomed to fail then I don't think it will be quite as negative as Moka "discarding" Ueno, if any discarding is going to take place then depending on how this potential breakup goes I can see Ueno lashing out and discarding the bully trio, blaming them for Ueno's love life being a mess.
