Unless it's Jade's hubris in believing he can handle everything, while keeping Dorami perfectly safe at the same time, or he really is so über strong that his last line of "How shall I beat you?" wasn't pondering how he could pull it off after losing his sword, but rather it was Jade merely trying to decide which overpowered skill out of the 50 he possesses he would use this time.

I agree with you though, he should’ve drawn the line and said “no,” ESPECIALLY when he was informed they’d both be marching toward a beast with such a dangerous track record. Feels either like arrogant oversight or simple incompetence. It’s a fluff manga though, so she won’t get hurt, we ball 🏀

I don't actually have a problem with her being there, as long as the author justifies it. Which is why I asked why, or actually am hoping that she will turn into her proper dragon form and destroy the mimic right in front of Jade's face, giving Jade a good reminder of why dragons are at the top of the food chain. Why not have her throw a nice one-liner as well, e.g. tell Jade that she got worried about him after he lost his weapon, so she decided to put a stop to the fight.
