It's still impressive that a series built around a hero with unparalleled power who can take down the strongest monsters and threats to people everywhere, whose exploits and legend are known to even those of distant lands; who befriends a dragon and takes her in and raises her as his own, and inspires those he meets wherever he goes--
ends up with such a down-to-earth, intimate tone throughout the story, thanks to his singular desire to be noticed by the woman he loves, and the wish to live a life of happiness between them and those important to them.

It'd be so easy to get sidetracked with impressive fights and mighty confrontations, but those are almost afterthoughts, with everything centered around Jade's relationship with Garnet (and with Dorami as her partner and guardian), and it gives the whole story this very cozy and lighthearted, uplifting feeling. There's no real struggle, no dire circumstances that leave any doubt that they'll persevere...and I think it works really well.

Nice to see one of these "strongest adventurer" manga titles manage to focus so much on the characters, and the slice-of-life feeling of what's important outside of the constant grinding and fighting and adventuring, and tell such a lovely, soft story in the process. It's not groundbreaking, but between the characters, their relationships, and the delightful illustration work, it's been a pleasant, comfy read from start to (near) finish.

For anyone else that was struggling to remember, chapter 12 was when Onyx first got mentioned (as Garnet's father & also as Jade's inspiration to become an adventurer).

I doubt the old man has anything against it. Jade not only saved his and a whole bunch of other adventurers' lives, but he's also a rare level 10 adventurer, yet he hasn't turned arrogant despite it. Being an adventurer himself, and suddenly disappearing for a dozen years, he can't, with a straight face, claim Garnet shouldn't date someone in as dangerous a job as an adventurer. He will just need to accept it graciously. Even if it is a shock his little daughter suddenly (from his pov) isn't so little anymore and is dating someone already. But then again, he seems like a jovial person, so it shouldn't be a problem in the first place.

And so, Jade suddenly faced the greatest quest in his whole life.
But yeah, with only few chapters left I can't see drama coming from the dad.

I also like the fact that, despite all the build up, the fight with the medusa was little more than a quick one. This series does not really focus on it, and it works for creating an OP character, as way to many series try to create struggle despite an OP MC, which just doesn't work 95% of the time.

Right. I'd have been straight with him and pointed out over a decade had passed... one shocking thing at a time while he gets up to speed on what he missed.

"Yes, sir. I am, in fact, banging your daughter."
...like that. Lol

Maybe it's for the best the author glossed over adventurers returning to society after more than fifty years...
Yeah im curious how thats going honestly.
