I can never understand why genderbend exists :/

I think a lot of the time it's for sexual titillation and whatnot, but REALLY well written gender-bending stories more often explore deeper themes while using the transformation as a vehicle to push the story forward while exploring those themes. It's my personal favorite genre and not even for sexual reasons. I just like how metaphors and allegory are used creatively when the stories are well-written.
