It's a nonsensical plan all the way through. Their leader must be assuming he happened upon some military officer and his entourage. Even if he were to win, who would honor a demand like that? Let's say they also manage to kill the rest of the soldiers (not without losses though), then what? It's already been established these raiders can do nothing against that fort and it's 30K army.

Well, she does trust him, but not to not do anything reckless.

For a manga, that's perfectly acceptable. Don't want to delve too deeply into random and absolutely inconsequential stories that have no bearing on the plot whatsoever.

Plundering and instigating war are more or less the same. Defending against an invasion, however, is quite something else.

Dunno in what reality that bandit even stands a chance, but let’s see in next chapter what kind of asspull he can get.
Not much of a cliffhanger when the matchup is a Bandit boss VS the guy who wields the best magic sword and solo conquered the tower that Tinasha build.
