"You really go overboard when your existence is threatened."
I mean, what do you have to lose at that point?

"I'm used to having my stomach torn open."
The benefit of being an immortal witch?

Her trust in him is one of the reasons this story works. In general; not this particular arc.

"Are you fine with sleeping like this?"
I don't think she's awake enough to care.

That was a silly and rushed arc on both the anime and manga. It had such a good start so it really is a pity how it went downhill later on.
Yeah, it seemed much more promising. There was the plot hook that the creature was linked to the Ito's ancestors and likely to the possessed woman. Both went nowhere, just like said woman's motivation to care about a guy who slaughtered her people, including her husband and the reason for that guy's obsession for her... Feels like a bait and switch.

They're such a cute couple, yet the author put such a brutal obstacle in their way that I'm not sure how the author ever plans to resolve.

Which is that she'll apparently just lose her powers if she ever has sex?

At best she becomes mortal, at worst she might actually die on the spot as her centuries-long extended lifespan catches up to her.

But either way, she loses everything she currently is.

Huh. So she did, but then we have the issue that Tinisha isn't an entirely reliable source of info.

She phrases as it as her being too strong to have her magic taken by the other person, but that can be interpreted as "someone that is strong enough can still take her magic."

Unless this is a mistranslation, that's not what she said. She implies that someone with enough control could avoid losing the powers of a ghost mage during intercourse but never claims that applies to her. Then goes on that she herself knows so many different forms of magic and has so much power in general, that it wouldn't matter if she lost access to that specific subset of abilities. The next panels confirm that she would only lose some of her magic.

Actually no she doesnt lose her powers.

Tinasha already goes through this in the spirit mage incident when Oscar had this concern.

A normal spirit mage would lose their powers, but for Tinasha it would simply be more difficult to cast spells.

When they finally do start sleeping together, Tinasha actually takes this as an opportunity to fine tune her spells, which actually helps in defeating another witch later on.

That makes me wonder what was the point of ever making her a spirit mage at all.
