I do believe that that was exactly what Shion was implying. She was trying to give Akira an outlet where she doesn't have to try to please everyone.
This because early she suggested to Akira to hang out with her every now and then, and then she used to exact same "every now and then" when suggesting to Akira that she didn't mind her being blunt/harsh with her.
Ultimately, Akira refused because even Shion is part of her friend group, and as much as Shion may be okay with it, Akira wouldn't be feel comfortable doing it because it would remind her of the times where she was bullying Nana.
Maybe I didn't phrase that correctly, if that was the case I apologize.
Also, Shion is too one of my favorite characters of this manga. Along with Kikuchi, Shouma and Aoi.

I guess I formed my interpretation when I read the raw. When Akira refuses Shion's proposal, she says she doesn't want to "waruguchi" her friends, i.e. badmouth or slander them. I think it also fits in context too, since Shion was criticizing both Rumi and Aoi beforehand, her proposal reads to me as "you can complain about your friends when you're with me." In addition, I don't think Akira really considers Shion to be a friend; they're in the same social orbit but we've seen her be uncomfortable around Shion multiple times even before this chapter.

Regardless of which interpretation is right, though, I hope this foreshadows more Shion content in the future lol. (Aoi is one of my favorite characters too.)

i actually do like shion, especially that the author isnt making here 1 dimensional. She has a lot of room to develop as a character, and glad it is going that path. I also like the twist that its shion who akira opens up to her past trauma. As for the hiatus, it had me worried honestly yes, but hopefully everything is fine and it'll continue. I love this series, the art may not be the best, but the writing imo is all that matters with storytelling, i'd rather be able to write something, have eh art for it than not be able to but be the best artist you can be.

I don't hate her, I don't think she is wrong, but neither is Akira or anyone else here. Each has their own personality type and why they are like that and it just requires a bit of communication and understanding and we are getting that. That is good.

Author's Twitter posted the last part of this chapter on Aug 28, and he's only retweeted the last two parts of the chapter since then. ComicWalker also says the next release date is not set. I'm guessing this is going on an irregular release schedule for whatever reason.

Rough for me as I just binge-read the whole thing today, and now itching for more

I get the feeling that Rumi might actually know about Akira's condition. My imagination has already created this scenario in which an eight year old Rumi (maybe while in the infirmary or concealed somewhere else) overheard her teachers talking about this girl called Akira who used to be a boy but is now a girl due to this mystery disease. I know that there are panels which seem to contradict this (particularly in the last chapter of the pre-serialization work in which Akira says that Rumi makes her feel like a real girl, and Rumi seems puzzled by such a statement), but I can't help feel that Rumi knows. It would explain why she was so ready to help Akira out, and why she felt so bad about "forcing" Akira to be a girly-girl during those first encounters with Aoi. And remember that Rumi did ask Akira to tell her anything that was bothering her - no matter how weird.
Concerning Nana, it does seem obvious that there will be a reunion, but I think it might go down differently. I think that Nana will apologize to Akira, and tell her about how much she regretted not helping her out in the beginning.
