Yep, I think a lot of people are ignoring the fact that Akira was not happy in the slightiest when his gender got changed out of nowhere, and since now Akira can't seem to find a chance to tell them she's not actually really umconfortable with her current condition we can't really blame neither mom or grandma for not understanding Akira

@HiddenArmy We do what we can, our pace is looking like it will soon be a week faster per release. Also soon we'll be done with the twitter side so releases could theoretically double in speed after that (though I'm sure that's not true because we translate both versions in one step because they have 60-80% overlap in dialogue).
Why chapter 21? Sounds so arbitrary.

@Smileyguy Yeah. Plus with everything going on, and her age too making it an uncertain time, all the pressure she's under thinking she has to fit in or meet these expectations, the fact her father left ages back likely related to this, and being caught between what she wants, she's finding it so tough to say anything.

@urugiru thanks for the update status. For why ch.21, it is because I assuming that the currently free full ch. is starting from ch 21 till latest ch 43 on the official site one. the older ch. is now lock behind paywall. cmiiw if it is not a full ver one, aka if it's a trial one.

@HiddenArmy Ah ok, well keep in mind that as time passes, more chapters will disappear. But you'll be seeing that, sure there are minor differences with the twitter edition in future volumes, but for the most part they are not so dissimilar after volume 1.

MC has accepted being turned into a girl, because she got a friend who genuinely cares about her – she has no reason to hate the changes anymore.
It's a story about coming to age as a girl at its core, not some trans fiction.

@HiddenArmy your comment came to mind today (no way it has been a month since I wrote it! I thought it was just days ago), and I remembered you saying you had chapters missing, and I thought, oh, I never brought up that there are no gaps in the twitter version. Sure, the chapter numbering is not the same (it is like 3 releases per 1 chapter more or less), and there are a handful of major differences, a ton of minute differences, but overall, the version you'll find on the author's twitter will more than compensate enough for the gap in the chapters.

You know, maybe I am intending to be replying some other comment. But I can't find it, so I'll just reply you with this response instead.

I don’t blame the mother and grandmother honestly. They have been very supportive of the MC. From their point of view the MC hated the transformation at first and they can’t read their child’s mind to know that they are fine with it now.

I'm trans and this comes across as one of the better wish-fulfilment stories I've read in a long time lmao. The feeling of "wow maybe I don't have to be ashamed of this part of myself anymore and I can embrace it and have fun with it?" is one of the best parts of being trans

Some trans people do regret their decision to transition, but the figures on that shows it to be an absolutely miniscule amount. Iirc, the rate of detransitioning is around 1% or so, and of that 1%, the majority of that is people who detransition not because they realized they weren't actually trans and regret transitioning, but because they feel they can't transition at that time or at all (such as for financial or social reasons) but are still trans. If someone does realize they weren't actually trans, then good on them for figuring themselves out better, and hopefully they can live the life they want to live.

@Aidhm
For one, those statistics use suicide attempt rates as you can't really ask a person who killed themself "hey, you trans?" or "hey, why'd you die" and therefore any data on that subject won't be accurate. And those statistics are generally taken as either just pre-transition or as at any point in a trans person's life. It is definitely true that the suicide attempt rate for trans people is insanely high pre-transition, but that is not because of being trans or regret. Secondly, the two things known to reduce suicide attempt rates, depression, anxiety, and the like in trans people is transitioning and social acceptance as the gender they say they are (which is social transitioning which is also part of transitioning, so really just one thing). Post transition, the suicide attempt rates drop down to nearly the cis average. And that is one of the more extensively studied things relating to trans people. The fact that the suicide attempt rate is so high is pretty appalling, but not appalling in the sense that it would suggest trans people are regretting being trans so much and in such high numbers that they kill themselves, but actually appalling in how it reflects how poor society is at helping and supporting trans people. Please don't bring up transgender suicide statistics if you are going to use it justify transphobia.

@Orangechrisy Indeed what you say makes sense. Taking raw stastics without specifying the context is clearly a bad thing ... I can imagine without any concern that the result of social rejection is a huge burden, I live in France and only being gay by example is already a complicated state to live in public so to imagine someone trans ... without a lot of support from family and friends seems very complicated.

By cons I do not understand your last sentence? I have never had at heart to want to pronounce transophobia ... Especially changing gender haunts my mind every day, I have enormous respect for people who have passed the step because it takes so much courage, a courage that I do not haven't.
Kind regards, thank you for your reply

Ah, if you didn't mean that to be in a transphobic way than that's my bad. Usually when someone tries to bring up the suicide statistics it's in an attempt to suggest being trans or transitioning causes the high suicide attempt rate (and in that suggest that society should prevent people from being trans). And you bringing those statistics up in response to someone asking how often people regret transitioning made it seem like you were suggesting that the high suicide attempt rate was at least in part due to regret of transitioning, which it very much isn't. So good to see that that isn't what you meant, thanks.

Whether or not he looks like this by choice or wants to stay a girl or anything really.
It's still rather weird to crush a compliment in such a way, kinda sending a the message that they can't even feel cute/good looking for a moment, even if they don't like the situation overall.
