Read their comments on smiley's earlier uploads, they were hositle from the second he uploaded, calling him trash. I don't doubt their "agreement" was "get off md or else we'll continue to fill every upload with our 'your work is trash stop' posts"
If they wanted respect they should have put some out themselves first.
Left a bad taste in my mouth about the group the first time but I didn't say anything. But I'm not keeping my mouth shut now. This group is just a bunch of high school mean girls pretending they have any rights to a series and making up rules that don't exist. Theres no rule on MD stating they can't both upload. Theres no rule saying smiley has to "ask their permission" to upload. There's no "etiquette" rule, thats just their personal opinion.
All scanslators need to be encouraged, everyone starts somewhere and "muh quality" is subjective. I'd rather a perfectly readable smiley version more frequently than their 2 "hi res" uploads every 9 months. Best part is, WE CAN HAVE BOTH. Other group just wants to be a pissbaby crying that if they can't have exclusive rights to a series theyre pirating and uploading illegally, they wont do it at all and i say good riddance.

Sure, though most of them just ad-ridden "aggregators".
After reading "A History" afterword, I still find the attitude of "should ask first" kinda baffling. This isn't a some organ measuring contest, this a hobby project for all involved and a common courtesy of asking should be understood as a mean to reduce the amount of duplicate/wasted effort and/or to give a better result. There couldn't be such a thing as "culpability" [1] in a hobby project over an unlicensed content.

Got through this and sees a to of drama that I won't touch.
Anyway, this manga has dealt with this gender stiff VERY well and in way more depth than 99% of gender benders. It really does get into the mental state of this person and the growing up and dealing with everything.
It also reminds me that fiction has a bias with this whole "Different for girls" thing. I really want to read or watch some sort of opposite, of dealing with how to be a boy. And the ones that really attempt this... don't. The crossdressing ones start promising, and end up being pathetic the first time someone finds out that the MC is a girl. The gender benders are overlooked when they do happen and even the one of the GF became a guy, we don't really see her learn stuff and is just really chill about it.
Which I find odd since 99% of the time the MTF type are not chill at all. Really the only one I can think about is the lazy guy which is a real breath of fresh air.
Anyway I wanted to get through this sooner but the dense subject matter and my inability to handle tense stuff well took a while. I like how you clarified some things that would be lost in English like the pronouns, while it isn't a big deal in most gender bending manga, in this one it is all about the mental state so it is a big deal on what is being used. Thank you.
I hope to see this continued and finished as it is one of the best gender benders being done right now.

@gomichandesu I agree with you. That entire exchange pissed me off. There's no rules regarding sniping, and is it really sniping when it takes them that much longer to get the chapters out compared to Smiley's? It took them months to even catch up to Smiley's backlog on Mangadex before this mass upload. They bullied him about "quality" but I think if their "quality" takes such a long time to make it isn't worth it. I personally don't see anything wrong with Smiley's translations, but I've been reading manga for a long time and have dealt with much shitter scanlations in the past, and Smiley's work is fine for me.

Since its going to take that other group at least a year before they could even catch up to chapter 30 by their rate.
