What we saw was a naive girl that got taken advantage of. She was deluding herself to the very end that she was "so important" to him. The whole point was that her low self-esteem and personal problems led her to seek self-validation on the internet, through perceived anonymity that she threw away herself. She decided to do this by posting nude pictures of herself, and consequently found a person that wasn't as stupid as the rest of her "fans", and knew exactly how to use her weaknesses to get what he wants.

This is not about two consenting adults meeting up, with clear boundaries about what they are ok with. This is about taking advantage of others (and as far as I could tell she is underaged - so that possibly makes this guy a pedophile if he's an adult). I do not think that he intended to kill her, but it was also a direct product of him not really caring about her - if anything they didn't even have a safe word.
