Meeting strangers online that met you because of lewds you posted never ends well, kids. Especially if you meet them alone.

This was never going to go well from the start, this is just going to be a depressing ride from beginning to end.

this actually happens irl quite a lot (meeting with internet acquaintance/friend, getting killed/raped/kidnapped ), and it needs to be drilled into the mind of everyone using the internet.

No one is forced to read this, if you don't like it then just go and do something you think is more productive.
We know things are gonna go bad...

You have never been on a date with someone you first met online? I am sorry to disappoint you, but not everyone you meet online is a serial killer/psychopath - at most you have a higher chance of meeting manchildren and socially awkward people. You can get killed/raped/kidnapped by people you met irl too if you disn't know.

I don't think that the point of the manga was ever that meeting someone online is bad. It is about what happens when a low self-esteem, immature girl, seeks self-validation by relying on perceived anonimity that she throws away. The sexual predator simply took advantage of her low self-esteem by feigning concern. It's pretty clear that this guy had experience with this type of stuff.

@VawX - According to the author's pixiv page this title will have only 3 chapters plus one extra that was published a few months ago (we will be translating that one shortly) so it is a 'short' one....

There's a difference between meeting someone on a dating site or getting to know someone over a few months and sliding into your dms, being nice to you once and then suddenly asking you to meet them in person alone.

Granted, the point is that she doesn't have these tactics or abilities because she's emotionally unstable, depressed and is unfamiliar with people. It's easy for her to be abused and manipulated because she doesn't have interpersonal skills to notice a dangerous situation when one appears.

But, yeah don't just met random people you know online IRL suddenly without getting to know them for a few months or so. I never claimed everyone online is a serial killer/rapist/predator, but there are ones out there and you never know so its best to meet with in person with a few friends and associates, people you know, and be prepared in case an incident occurs. It's just a case of forethought, which we know the main character is lacking because of her background and personality.

They met at a public place initially. Whether she had met him online or irl is irrelevant to her decision to go to his house - this was a product of her naivete.

But, yeah don't just met random people you know online IRL suddenly without getting to know them for a few months or so.
I'll reiterate - there's nothing wrong with meeting someone you met online, in a public place. The issue here was not her meeting someone she had met online - the issue was that she got sweet-talked by a sexual predator.

You can meet people online, exchange nudes, and then go for one night stands - there's a reason apps like Tindr, and specific subrredits exist. This requires some level of maturity however, which our protagonist was lacking, and I do believe she was underaged.

So this is not so much about meeting people online, it's about immaturity, low self-esteem, and an unrealistic perception of the world.
