I though its good'old memory swap, but its a copy paste intelect? If so what are those necklace. They explained it as previous bodies personality, but they weren't killed from the transfer nor was the prof.
And how the hell he lived thousand of year with only 10 bodies??????

This is just a guess, but maybe it's like cloning a harddrive. So you end up with two different physical drives, but same content. Now in this special case, the overwritten old data is not gone but converted into "shrunken head".

If I'm correct, we have two Dai Dais:
1. The young original
2. The old clone, with new addition of shrunken head of the professor.
