There’s something a bit more subtle.

Remember how she responded harshly to Ziegline knowing that she’s Weiss’s “wife”? There must be some kind of rivalry between Medici and Ziegline, probably in relation to their statuses in the Ministry.

Just a mere speculation from my end though who knows when will their backstories be brought up. Heck we don’t really know Weiss’s background at school that much at this point.

I'm just glad the 5-6 year old daughter has enough maturity and intelligence to question the mom's thoughts.

She's either going to be a good rival (one who competes for her own self-growth rather than her parent's stupid pride) or a great friend. She's so patient with Lily when they were left in the classroom.
