Yakkou got really ingenious with his broken arms since he fought Tatsuki. And its weird and refreshing to see Baku despairing. I feel its really genuine there.

Break Yakou's bones and he'll beat you with those broken bones. Case in point: Bai Long and Tatsuki.

Baku came up with a good strategy to get that guy off of him very fast. It's a shame that Cameo did what he did and ended up caught by the explosion too. Most likely Ryuusei's been caught by Ideal, and Baku also believes Champ did too, which is what he really meant by "Those two have been discovered" in the 12/29 scene.

I think I get why Baku was so distressed on that scene now.

There's the fact that he believes Ryuusei and Champ have been caught. But also the fact that Yakou's jacket was just burned on top of another body. If Bai Long ends up defeated after this and Yakou leaves to look for Baku, Baku might end up coming back and seeing this and believing Yakou died.

Baku is really losing it; his gambles are becoming more reactive and less calculated, and he's starting to see people he feels responsible for die right in front of him.

Bai Long really made a fake-out for us readers. I had to do several takes at that burning corpse to see if that was really Yakou burning up there.

I think you're right.

Fittingly, that body burning right now is probably that guy who got his hand cut by the chainsaw last chapter (which, in itself, seemed strangely specific, hence why). That could be even more convincing for Baku to believe it's Yakou.

Honestly, I was shocked that Baku try to save Cameo. I know Baku isn't the devil as the manga often shows us, but I'm surprised by the fact that he took action and leaped towards the exploding gun instead of escaping or just warning Cameo while he stay at the sidelines. Especially since Cameo betrayed him. Plus, I thought Baku sees Cameo as someone to be manipulate and used to win the gamble, so I didn't expect Baku save him, especially at the cost of escaping from Bai Long, I can see Baku doing this for Kaji and Macro but not Cameo.

Oh! Yeah that sounds like a good call. Yakou's "death" combined with Kyara's and the news of losing Ryuusei's vest, that's rough. Lalo also has Arata's vest too although he doesn't know that yet, so the situation's pretty rough for him right now. I'm really curious to see how it'll affect him.

I think Cameo was lying or half-lying about betraying him, because his whole sermon thing was him trying to give information to Baku discretely. Plus Cameo never attacked Baku either, I think he was feeling guilty about not being able to protect Ryuusei.

But yeah, him trying to save Cameo was quite something. It's so hard to tell if he's doing things out of goodness, or if it's just because he thinks he needs Cameo to win. I remember thinking the same back when Marco almost died during the labyrinth.
