edit: and by playing with her body I mean obviously she'd do her job and even solve the crime, but manipulating her mandibles like a puppet while impersonating her voice to have a fake conversation is totally on the menu

I don't get what everyone is complaining about with Akira. Sure if you preferred her over Komako you'd still be annoyed but to act like her role in the epilogue is her being shafted just misunderstands the point of the epilogue. It's supposed to wrap things up and give us a peek into Satauki's life and it's very clear that Akira is the most involved in Satsuki's life after Komako. If she wasn't involved anymore she wouldn't be mentioned (like Seo or the VP). Honestly Akira's whole sequence have me OT3 vibes especially since she is the one keeping them alive and not dying due to scurvy.

We get what you're talking about, but, in this case, it's important for Satsuki that she is able to have a talk with her dad, get across what she needs to, and be believed.

Even if she never reconciles with her dad, she needs him to believe her even if just the once. It's why Komachi yelled at him.

And the story correctly puts the responsibility for reconciliation on the dad's shoulders. He's the one with something to make up for, not Satsuki. Satsuki didn't even really reach out. She just interacted with him like she would with anyone who's corpse she saw. It was Komachi who yelled at him.

Yes, thank you, that's more like an ending! I guess there was no choice but rush before, since it was clearly axed, but good thing the author was given a chance to give a proper ending, I mean 53 extra pages, that a pretty good number, so thanks to whoever gave the author that.
