listen, i dont have anything against komachi but i would have enjoyed the ending much more if her relationship with satsuki got more focus and development instead of them just going from surface level friendship to basically marriage (spending the rest of their lives together and all that).

like, last chapter was awfully romantic and poetic but so shallow, man. also i dont really agree with the overall message but that's beside the point.

I AM happy about satsuki being happy tho,she deserves that. And the current komachi would have made me happy had i felt any type of connection to her whatsoever but it's nice to see another side of her,i feel like i would have liked her now

Akira got so much more development and was consistently more important and useful to Satsuki in chapter to chapter than komachi. Whether they should end up as roommates or roommates either way Akira got robbed. She was much more important emotionally and plot wise to Satsuki's character, emotions and ability to even navigate the plot. It isn't a matter of pushing shipping, just plain consistency with itself.

Even if komachi showed up more often, she was still very doormat and empty. Originally it seemed to like she might be an embodiment of death or empty soul due to having been destined to die. Seemed like the axe made the mangaka adapt her into suddenly slightly different death sight. I think komachi works well for komachi, but the manga was more about Satsuki and Akira compared to like 10 chapters of komachi even showing up.

Yooo, when the manga ended, I was just waiting for an epilogue where Satsuki finally made up with her dad. That was the big plot point I wanted resolved.
Great manga.
And she even got a roommate!
