Apart from what everything previously mentioned upthread, I have a beef with this chapter's title. The only character with anything to regret in this chapter is Ami, but exactly whose kouhai is she? Hasn't Ami just graduated from university? She's a senpai if anything...
Unless the kouhai in question is Sakaki and the regret is the "lucky pervert" event, but he was only trying to help and he's got nothing to feel guilty about IMO. I suppose there's some nuance escaping my crude western sensibility...

The physics ain't physics-ing. If the water was boiling hot she would have been burned instantly, at that point taking off the pants wouldn't have done anything. Also how are there no aprons that cover her lower half??

I got burned in such a way. I was wearing shorts at the time. I got boiling water on my thigh and knee. I got no burns on my naked knee, first degree burns on most of my thigh, and second degree burns under the cellphone in my pocket where water pooled.

You can't avoid the burn, but you can reduce the damage by limiting exposure to the boiling water and cooling down the skin ASAP. In my case, the parts of my skin that had more exposure to the boiling water (because of the cloth of my shorts and the water trapped under my cellphone) got more damage. She did the right thing there.
