1. Is this point an argument in favor of parents using public punishments based in shaming their child? If so, I completely disagree, not asking her dad for permission is not reason enough to be abusive.
2. My whole latter point in that comment was about how I dont see why they aren't fine with it. Not that it is fine because they should like it (considering the characters as described so far, how ppl normally would react, and the situation). Considering they clearly
aren't fine with it,
obviously she shouldn't force them. Still not reason enough for her father to turn abusive like that though.
3. While I am all for pointing out to people that the "golden rule" is just a rephrasing of the "an eye for an eye" rule and means the same, the punishment she were given is neither and the same nor equivalent, and as such doesn't adhere to said "rule". And as I said before, public shaming (particularly if it involves forcing the person in question to get humiliated in person, and not just slandering it) is imo abusive no matter what.
As a side-note, is it not more illegal to force someone major (in this case to show her own body) than a minor you have guardianship over? That is literally forcing someone who is their own person (unlike minors) to do something (surely exists a legal term for it), and in this case also sexual harassment at that (surely exists another legal term for forcing ppl to sexually serve ppl, who might or might not pay, either directly or through drinks).
