From what we have been told and seen from both Trash scans and No-group is that this is leading to a really huge headache for readers and potentially other translator groups. When trash announced their plans for the new site they also said that they are going to try to acquire the legal rights to the manhua, manga, manhwa or whatever they are translating at the time. Which for me means that if anyone tries to translate what Trashscans "own" (IE: if they haven't touched it for awhile or if someone doesn't want to purchase fucking gems to read one chapter) and released their free version of said chapter then Trash scans would send a cease and desist to stop it in its tracks and most likely threaten to sue to have them remove it.
They could even take it a step further and really fuck everyone over, they could see another manhua and think we can make a profit of this too and get the rights to it and start translating from chapter one but, the thing is, another group was already translating it for fans without the rights for months or years even. Well guess what big papa Trash now owns it so here is your cease and desist notice but don't worry if you really want to keep translating you can host on Trash's new site with their permission. I'm sure they will only charge you a premium fee to host it and assume leadership over you. If you refuse and continue to translate on your own i'm sure you know what will happen right?
