VPS or Cloud Compute

If i want to deploy a web application someday,
where should i deploy it?
Into a VPS or into a cloud compute platform (aka AWS EC2, Google Cloud, Cloudflare Workers, Edge)
or somewhere else??

There's no single answer that'll fit all situations. Think to yourself what kind of application it is and who will use it. Do you plan/hope/expect/want to anticipate large numbers of users? You might care more about scalability and go for cloud hosting. Do you want to limit cost and be more in control of it, VPS might be more appealing. Just look around the plans and get whatever you're comfortable with.

If you just want to make a webapp for yourself and maybe some friends, it makes a lot more sense to just get a raspberry pi or NAS to do the job. It's probably a better choice to start out with either way. You can play around and break stuff on it before taking the leap of paying for hosting.
