@Thoraxe41 Being vulgar and hyper sexual bars them from being an idol group like AKB48 like I said before. AKB48 has rules that prevent the girls from dating and requires them to be well behaved. Which means you can't vomit in front of people, get drunk and fall asleep in front of people, joke about selling drugs, or talk about your preference towards dating 10-12 year old boys.

Yeah, it makes sense that their behavior wouldn't fly with companies that contract idols and the like. The comments of the above video talk about this too, but I personally prefer how those Hololive VTubers act now compared to how they'd probably act under strict contracts.

It's just like your example, AKB48, or any other idol group for that matter. K-pop groups also fit into that realm of 'corporate-made entertainment personalities'. I guess those types of personalities have their place in entertainment, but they've never really appealed to me.

I'm generally not a fan of widespread and/or heavily promoted moral degeneracy, but even I share @Thoraxe41's sentiment that vulgarity and wholesomeness aren't mutually exclusive.

@bigtiddyoneesan I'm in complete agreement. They're much more fun and relatable when they're acting like themselves (or at least aren't being controlled by strict rules). I wasn't really making the argument that they couldn't be wholesome. There's a lot of the vtubers promoting and encouraging each other which is nice to see. Even the new english branch got a lot of support from the JP vtubers. I'm just saying they can't be like AKB48 like how the owner wanted them to be. Doesn't mean they can't still be an idol group. Just not one with the facade of moral superiority and purity attached to it.

A VTuber meme, Seiso (清楚) is a term which can be translated as "wholesome". It refers to a character type defined by innocence, purity, and propriety.
It is also used ironically to refer to a character who definitely does not have those qualities, or who tries and fails to act pure and wholesome.
