What is happening?

The beginning of the story takes place in the story's present day (2018) where Wanwan is married to a guy she doesn't love but has a kid with, and the segments that take place in school are flashbacks to her highschool days. The story isn't always concrete in delineating the time jumps.

I have a bit of pity for the poor husband, who only exists to be just useless enough that we won't care when she dumps him for her true love.
