LN manga adaption seems to get axed a lot. Feels bad man :(

___ ___ ___

A lot of author do this on purpose sometimes. We called it "Promo series" where they end half way and tries and get ppls to buy into their source material.

Tho some does get "axed" because it wasn't that high in the "rankings" in manga. Sometimes it has nothing to do with sales, sometimes it does.

If a series have moderate sales but low ranking, it gets axed.

But if a series have moderate sales, but high ranking, it continues. And vise-versa.

Such as series like To-Love-Ru and other ecchi romantic comedy series that have high sales but low ranking cause ppls don't want others to know they're pervs, the series continues regardless of ranking.

___ ___ ___

In any case, most of the time series that gets Axed are typically "unique" series.

Meaning series that's not with the "trend" (IE: the BIG series with 100+ chapters and/or cliche action adventure shounen series that focuses on Ecchi/ Violence)

There's a reason why high ranking series all tend to have similar plots...

It's pretty much the same as "Gaming trends"

Such as how gaming moved from MMORPG to FPS to Survival to MOBA to Hero Shooter to Battle Royal. It's why MMORPG are kinda dead now, no company makes them anymore besides Korea... and every company now makes or add Battle Royal into their games.

@chaos_animagic I don't think To Love-Ru really belongs in that category, as it was cancelled primarily due to a massive legal fiasco on account of Haruna's girl next door personality being largely based on Yabuki's wife; in reality, however, she was a major bitch, who was cheating on him (potentially for years) with a much younger man, and when Yabuki was bedridden in '09, she kidnapped their daughter, only to leave her at her parent's place while she had fun with her boyfriend. She then drained most of his bank account using his credit cards, stole the laptop he used to create the series, and then demanded a divorce "on grounds of clashing personalities" while demanding an exorbitant amount of money from Yabuki; when her own computer revealed her adultery, she instead backed down to demanding a large sum of cash in exchange for custody rights to their daughter (Yabuki willingly paid to spare his daughter the year (or more) proceedings). Yes, she ransomed her own daughter. She then claimed likeness rights to the character of Haruna and all profits made from the anime, manga, and merchandise, so they cancelled the series, rebranded it "To Love-Ru Darkness" and Haruna got shunted off to the sidelines, essentially becoming a minor side character for a large swath of the story.
