Wow. Umm. Huh. This feels like some type of weird propaganda with that ending. Seriously, what am I supposed to take away from this? That therapy stuff seemed good... why not make it about getting the support you need before it's too late? But then the second to last page has the internal monologue blame her dependency on others... others in this case being her mother and the guy that took advantage of her. Isn't she 19? Seriously, what am I supposed to take away from this? Society is hardly black and white and there are clearly real issues here that were allowed to exist because of some of the norms, systems in place, and failures of the system (like for starters her mother should've lost custody of her a long time ago). But no, it's that she didn't try hard enough to be a good member of society? Genuinely, had she not been lucky I'm not sure how this girl would've survived without something big and traumatic like this happening. "Society" is unfortunately something that needs to be invoked and kids (she's still a kid barely aware of the world or the resources available to her) fall through the cracks so easily when neglected. She had been way too normalized to her mother's environment and was even kicked out with no where to go. What even is "society"? What even was this Manga? I don't know. Maybe the real story was about how if you're in a rough financial situation, just sell some organs I guess.
