Maybe because she's all talk and attention-seeker, but not much beyond that. I mean, she's an annoying "bitch bully", not a "criminal bully", so we always hope her lesson will be someone putting her in her place, not someone hurting her like we hope with violent bullies, for instance.
That makes plenty of sense, actually.
Even if one bring it to oneself or if it is true justice, it still is difficult to see someone in a constant state of pain, loss, solitude and failure. We know that Minami is bad but still at some point is hard to see her always set up for failure (specially with the recent lighter tone of the manga) as if a god (the author) had created her with the purpose of being a justified punching bag.
Also likely. Granted, even as far back as the field trip, I kind of felt sorry for her.
Seeing that there are people defending Minami hardly surprise me at this point, after having seem people defending Ueno in Koe no Katachi.
No one's really
defending Minami, though. She's in the wrong regardless, that isn't to be disputed. It's just not pleasing for me personally to watch her get shit on/hurt/embarrassed. Just like it's not pleasing for me to watch it happen to Tomoko, even if she does things to warrant it from time to time.
Not saying it shouldn't happen because I didn't pick up Watamote for comfort to begin with. It's clearly ironic and giving her a taste of her own medicine. I'm on the Mako side of things where I'd like to see her improve as a person and maybe even get some redemption.
Just for the record, though, hardly anyone defends Ueno either. Not in all seriousness anyways. The fact of the matter is, Ueno is a cunt but Kawai is an even bigger cunt.
