Dammit the discussion of child abortion has undermined just how important this chapter's revelation is to the whole story:
Reina was the child of assault/rape
Subtly throughout her life she's realized her birth was what ruined her mother's life, so subconsciously she's felt sorry for being born. She felt she had to validate her existence to others, so she did prostitution.
Reina realizes the reason she's so desperate to have this child isn't because of some romantic love for this guy, nor because she's feels maternal love for them, but because that unborn child is her. If she decided to abort it, saying that "It would be easier" that's like saying her mother should have gotten rid of her too. She's at the exact crossroad that her mother crossed by deciding to have her. Reina has to give birth to the baby, to prove her right to exist.
But nooooo~! Instead of focusing on this driving aspect of her character you guys HAD to focus on discussing the morality of abortion!! Shame on you! Shame on you all!!! 😡
